(Legal) Risk Manager - Amstelveen

We are looking for an (Legal) Risk Manager (Amstelveen office).

Purpose of the job / Profile

As Risk Manager reporting to Chief Risk Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Risk Officer in managing all material legal and compliance risk affecting the MME business to facilitate optimal business decisions are taken and business strategies are followed according to applicable law.

Working within a small and dynamic team in our office near Amsterdam and in Born, you will be a legal Risk Manager, with extensive experience in legal, compliance and data privacy processes and regulations. Strong inter-cultural and communication skills are essential, along with a flexible mindset.

Job content

Support the Chief Risk Officer ensuring that legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure:

  • Providing accurate and timely advice on all legal topics affecting MME
  • Managing all litigation processes initiated by or against MME, its officers or assets
  • Supporting executive management to define optimal legal strategies
  • Drafting, negotiating and executing all contracts in support of MME’s business, contract management
  • Defining and implementing internal governance policies and regularly monitoring legal compliance
  • Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Communicating and negotiating with external parties (regulators, external counsel etc.)
  • Maintaining effective library of templates to maximize protection of MME through its operations
  • Dealing with complex matters with multiple stakeholders
  • Keeping fully abreast of all changes to legislation affecting MME’s business
  • Setting compliance policies and giving training as necessary to ensure fulfilment of the teams’ key Legal objectives
  • Liaising with MMC for Legal aspects

Support the Chief Risk Officer ensuring MME is compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures:

  • Advising MME’s management and business on compliance matters
  • Promoting communication, focus and coordination on compliance and risk management throughout MME, taking a pro-active as opposed to a re-active approach
  • Coordinating with MME’s business to identify compliance risk and define remedial solutions to reduce and/or eliminate such risk
  • Conducting internal audit/gap analyses
  • Monitoring and validating the compliance processes driven and undertaken by MME’s business
  • Reporting to MME’s management and Top management on compliance risk identified and remedial action proposed/undertaken
  • Being responsible for overseeing compliance within MME, and ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures
  • Establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout MME are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Advising executive management on material compliance risk affecting the business and material violations
  • Interacting with regulators on compliance issues
  • Setting legal policies and giving training as necessary to ensure fulfilment of the teams’ key Compliance objectives
  • Reporting to MMC in case of Compliance issues

Support the Chief Risk Officer ensuring compliance with all key GDPR principles:

  • Ensuring compliance with all key GDPR Principles
  • Working closely with data protection authorities, serving as their contact inside the organization and helping to ensure GDPR compliance
  • Working closely with MMC to ensure global Mitsubishi projects are implemented in accordance with the GDPR
  • Keeping abreast of changes in law and technology, and understanding how to build, organize, implement, manage, and constantly update data protection programs
  • Helping to foster a data protection culture within MME and to implement essential elements of the GDPR
  • Monitoring internal GDPR compliance
  • Informing and advising on data protection obligations regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
  • Setting legal policies and give training as necessary to ensure fulfilment of the teams’ key Privacy objectives

Job requirements

  • Master degree (legal)
  • > 8 years relevant international experience on legal compliancy and data protection regulations
  • Good knowledge of English language; other languages are beneficial
  • Outstanding negotiation, analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office,
  • Good communicator and influential/convincing attitude
  • Conducting the role with professionalism, integrity, discretion and responsibility

Cyber security Internship (Non-Technical)

Purpose of the Internship

This internship offers you the possibility to support the development of a cybersecurity program at MME Amstelveen.

Job content

Become a Mitsubishi cyber security member and support your MME colleagues to increase awareness of cyber security and help with the implementation of a cyber security program within MME.

As an intern, you will assist the Information Management department in the following tasks:

  • Assist in developing cybersecurity-related awareness training and program(s)
  • Proactively seek and analyse topics and trends on how to increase the cyber security awareness of MME employees
  • Draw up scenarios to identify the security-related gaps within the MME environment
  • Evaluation of cyber security threats for the organization and risk analysis of threats
  • Assist in gathering various information related to cyber security that will help to define the cyber security program
  • Research cyber security program implementation challenges that similar industries have faced
  • Support in compliance audits to meet the security controls set by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation HQ
  • Assist the cyber security team in managing, reviewing and tracking cyber security incidents

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor/master’s in computer science
  • Professional level of spoken and written English (another language is beneficial)
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office
  • Deep interest in the information/cyber security domain
