Outlander Connected Services FAQ

Safety and Support

If you are experiencing technical problems with the MITSUBISHI CONNECT Service, please contact the authorised dealer and/or distributor in your country.

Please see the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for the MITSUBISHI CONNECT Owner’s Manual of your vehicle.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html
Outlander PHEV drivers can also contact the authorised dealer and/or distributor in their country.

Please see the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for the MITSUBISHI CONNECT Owner’s Manual of your vehicle.

The SOS Emergency Assistance button provides quick access to assistance by authorised emergency personnel. Emergency services are available24/7
For the SOS button to work, you must first start the vehicle engine to power the telematics control unit. The vehicle must be in an area with adequate GPS and mobile coverage.
Pressing the SOS button calls your local Public Safety Answering Point.

If the SOS button is not working, ensure that your vehicle engine is on and try again. To connect to emergency services, your engine must be on, and your vehicle should be located in an area with good mobile connectivity.
• If the SOS button is still not working, if possible, try driving to a different location and pressing the button again.
• If you are still unable to reach emergency services, confirm that you are within the service period and your account is active.
• If you are still unable to reach emergency services, then visit the authorised dealer and/or distributor in your country for further investigation.

Alarm Notification will notify you if the factory-installed alarm in your Mitsubishi vehicle has been triggered. This is especially useful when you are out of the alarm’s audible range.
If your vehicle is moved unexpectedly without the engine running, a tow alert notification is sent to you.
You will be notified automatically via your smartphone.

When the safety services detect an airbag deployment or a collision in your vehicle, your vehicle automatically attempts to connect to appropriate Public Safety Answering Point for an emergency response.
While all accidents are important to us, automatic connection to emergency service is made based on the vehicle’s airbag deployment and the severity of the impact. Not all accidents are severe enough to automatically trigger the automatic connection.
In cases where the vehicle does not automatically connect, you can manually push the SOS Emergency Assistance button. Once connected to the Public Safety Answering Point, you can tell the agent whether or not to forward the information to law enforcement authorities or medical services.
Please note that all safety services are subject to cellular network availability.

Access your account by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. Navigate to More->My Vehicle->Vehicle Settings->Vehicle Notifications to configure notifications.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.

When you are away from your registered MITSUBISHI CONNECT vehicle, if you have left any door or window unlocked or open, a notification is sent to your smartphone automatically within 5 minutes. From this notification screen, you can open the Mitsubishi Motors app and check your vehicle status to see the location of the problem.
Notification is sent even if the key, or a person, is in the vehicle. The status is synchronised only when locked with the fob key. When locked with a mechanical key, the status is not synchronised and a notification is received.

The Mitsubishi Motors app provides notifications for climate and charging operations. You can enable Climate or Charge notifications by using the Mitsubishi Motors app.
Note that Immediate Climate Push notifications are always turned on. “Immediate Climate” refers to starting the Climate remotely. Except for Immediate Climate, you can deselect any other Push event type that you do not want to be notified about. For safety reasons, you will always be notified about Immediate Climate events.

Remote Operations

You can lock or unlock your car’s doors remotely by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. To function properly, the engine must be off and the doors and trunk must be closed.
If you choose to unlock the doors:
• The trunk will unlock.
• If you do not open a door within 30 seconds, the doors will relock.
Note: When you are away from your registered vehicle, if you have left any door unlocked, a notification is sent to your smartphone automatically.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

You can turn your vehicle lights on and off remotely by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. To function properly, the engine must be off and the alarm must not be actively sounding.
If you choose to turn on the lights:
• The lights will keep flashing on for 15 seconds.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

You can sound your car’s horn remotely by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. This feature can be useful in helping you to locate your vehicle.
To function properly, the engine must be turned off and the alarm must not be actively sounding.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

To function properly, the remote horn and remote lights feature require a set of pre-conditions to be met:
• Ensure that the alarm is not actively sounding.
• Ensure that the engine is off.
• Ensure that the car is in a good connectivity area.

You can control the climate inside the car by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. You can start the climate before you leave home or work in advance to bring your vehicle to a comfortable temperature.
The remote climate feature uses the vehicle battery to pre-condition the cabin. To function properly, please ensure the following:
• Your phone and the vehicle must have good mobile coverage.
• The engine must be turned off and the vehicle gear in Park (P).
• All doors to the vehicle must be closed and locked with the key fob or the mobile app.
• The bonnet and boot must be closed.
• The battery, if not plugged into the charger, must have enough charge left to run the climate.
• The air temperature must not be below -15°C.
If the remote operation is successful:
• The climate will remain on for a time period of 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the battery level and charger plug status.
• If the outside temperature is cold, turning on the heater may automatically turn on the defroster.
• If the climate turns off, you can start it one additional time.
• After sending two consecutive remote climate commands from the Mitsubishi Motors app or if you have not started your vehicle’s engine in the last 15 days, you will need to start your engine manually and drive a short distance over 8 km/h. This resets the remote climate counter so that you can send remote climate commands in the future.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

The climate starts from three possible sources:
• You are in the car and you manually turn on the heater or cooler.
• You are outside the car and you use the mobile app to start the climate.
• You are outside the car and your scheduled climate starts the heater or cooler.
For Outlander PHEV vehicles, the remote climate feature uses the vehicle battery to pre-condition the cabin. If you are unsure whether your vehicle is eligible, please contact your dealer.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

If using the mobile app to start the climate does not work, please review the following requirements:
• Your phone and the vehicle must have good mobile coverage.
• The engine must be turned off and the vehicle gear in Park.
• All doors to the vehicle must be closed and locked using the key fob or mobile app.
• The bonnet and boot must be closed.
• The vehicle key must be outside the vehicle.
• The brake pedal cannot be depressed.
• The battery, if not plugged into the charger, must have enough charge left to run the climate.
• The air temperature must not be below -15°C.
The remote climate will not work if any of the following are true:
• Your Mitsubishi Motors app subscription has expired or been cancelled.
• The climate is already on.
• A climate schedule is set. Turn off all timers, drive at at least 8 km/h, and then try the remote operation again.
• You have used remote climate twice already. After two consecutive climate operations, you must manually start the engine and drive over 8 km/h for a short distance to reset the counter.
• Your PIN is locked. If you entered an incorrect PIN three times on any screen in the Mitsubishi Motors app, remote operations will be locked for 30 minutes. You can wait 30 minutes or reset your PIN in the mobile app.

You can set the climate schedule by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. This is useful if you know ahead of time when you will be ready to depart.
You could set a timer to operate regularly at a certain time of day during the week. Or you could set a timer for a particular date and time that you may want to enable only once. The vehicle turns on the heater or cooler ahead of time to reach the desired temperature by the departure time. You can set up to three timers.
Note that if the outside temperature is cold, the defroster may automatically start when the heater starts.
For example, if you set the schedule to drive at 9:30 on Monday, and you want the vehicle cabin to be 25°C, the vehicle decides when to start the heater or cooler so that your desired temperature is reached by 9:30.
Note: You can set the climate schedule using the mobile app or using the infotainment screen. For information on using the infotainment screen, please refer to your MITSUBISHI CONNECT Owner’s Manual.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

When creating a climate schedule, you can set up to three timers. For example, one timer could be set for the time of day when you go to school or work. Another timer could be set for the time of day when you leave school or work. A third timer could be set for a weekend outing.
Note: You can also set the climate schedule and enable or disable the timer using the infotainment screen. For information on using the infotainment screen, please refer to your MITSUBISHI CONNECT Owner’s Manual.

You can control when your vehicle battery is charged by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. To function properly, ensure the following:
• Your phone and the vehicle must have good mobile coverage.
• The engine must be turned off and the vehicle gear in Park.
• All doors to the vehicle must be closed and locked with the key fob.
• The bonnet and boot must be closed.
• The charger must be plugged into the vehicle.
Charging will continue until you unplug the charger or the battery is fully charged.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html
Note: You can use the infotainment menu screen to set a reminder to plug in your vehicle for charging. For example, if you start the charger or if the charging schedule is about to turn on the charger, a plug-in reminder can be sent to you. Look for the plug-in reminder settings on the infotainment menu screen. For information on using the infotainment screen, please refer to your Owner’s Manual.

Charging starts from four possible sources:
• You are near your parked vehicle and you plug in the charger. If no charging schedule has been created, simply plug in the charger to start charging.
• You are inside your parked vehicle and you press the Charge button in the vehicle. If the charger is not plugged in, you have a few minutes to plug in the charger.
• You use the mobile app to start the charger. If the charger is not plugged in, you have a few minutes to go to the vehicle and plug in the charger. If you also have a charging schedule, it is disabled until the vehicle is fully charged or only the charger is removed from the vehicle.
• The vehicle is parked; the charger is plugged in; and your charging schedule starts the charger.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
https://www.mitsubishi-connect.com/europe/index.html

You can create a charging schedule by using the Mitsubishi Motors app. This is useful if you want to charge the vehicle during off-peak hours when electrical rates are lower.
You can set the schedule to operate on a particular date and time, or regularly at a certain time of day during the week. For example, one timer could be set for nights when you go to school or work the next morning. A second timer could be set for a few hours after a small outing on a weekend. Another timer could be set for a night before you take a long trip and want more hours of charging.
You enter the time range when you want the charger to operate and then plug in the charger. The time range must be at least 10 minutes. You can set up to three timers.
Once you have set up and enabled at least one charging schedule timer, charging will occur only during the specified hours. Even if you plug in the charger, charging will not start until the start time. If you wish to plug in and start charging immediately, then use the mobile app to start the charger remotely.
Using the infotainment menu screen, you can optionally register a location that you use for charging. For example, if you charge your vehicle primarily at home, you can register your home as a charging location. If you want to execute scheduled charging only at the registered location, turn on “Timer Works Only at Home” on the infotainment menu screen.
Note: You can set the charging schedule using the mobile app or using the infotainment screen. For information on using the infotainment screen, please refer to your Smartphone-Link Display Audio Owner’s Manual.
Please refer to the MITSUBISHI CONNECT RESOURCE CENTRE for further information.
